Introduction

The Science Policy Lab is offering an internship for bachelor's, master's students, or recent graduates to join as a Research Assistant. This role involves developing AI-based optimisation models to improve water use efficiency in agriculture. The research will integrate hydrological data, crop water needs, and policy frameworks to support sustainable water management practices. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply AI-based optimisation models to enhance water use efficiency in agriculture.
  • Integrate hydrological data, crop water requirements, and policy frameworks into models.
  • Analyse and model water resource management policies for sustainable agricultural practices.
  • Collect and process data on water usage, crop yields, and hydrological cycles.
  • Prepare reports and visualisations of optimisation results for policy recommendations.
  • Collaborate on projects related to agricultural sustainability and water resource management.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's, master's student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Environmental Science, Agricultural Engineering, Data Science, Hydrology).
  • Interest in water resource management, agriculture, and AI-based optimisation techniques.
  • Experience or willingness to learn AI modelling and data optimisation methods.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
