Introduction
The Science Policy Lab is offering an internship for bachelor's, master's students, or recent graduates to join as a Research Assistant. This role focuses on using statistical and AI modelling to evaluate the effects of blue economy policies on marine biodiversity. The analysis will focus on interventions such as fishing quotas, pollution reduction, and marine conservation efforts. It is ideal for individuals interested in marine policy, biodiversity, and data-driven environmental impact analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop and apply statistical models to evaluate the impact of marine policies on biodiversity.
- Analyse the effects of specific policy interventions, including fishing quotas, pollution reduction measures, and marine conservation.
- Use AI-based modelling techniques to predict long-term outcomes of these policies.
- Collect and process data on marine biodiversity and policy interventions.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations based on modelling results and policy evaluation.
- Collaborate on projects related to marine conservation and blue economy policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Marine Science, Environmental Policy, Data Science, Economics).
- Strong interest in marine biodiversity, blue economy, and policy evaluation.
- Experience or willingness to learn statistical and AI-based modelling techniques.
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
