Introduction

The Science Policy Lab is offering an internship for bachelor's, master's students, or recent graduates to join as a Research Assistant. This role focuses on using statistical and AI modelling to forecast the adoption rates of solar, wind, and bioenergy based on policy interventions such as subsidies and tax incentives. This position is ideal for those interested in energy policy, data analysis, and forecasting techniques.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and apply time-series models to predict the adoption rates of solar, wind, and bioenergy technologies.
  • Analyse the impact of current and projected policy incentives (e.g., subsidies, tax incentives) on renewable energy adoption.
  • Use statistical and AI-based modelling techniques (e.g., ARIMA, machine learning models) for accurate predictions.
  • Collect and process data on policy incentives and renewable energy adoption trends.
  • Prepare reports and presentations based on modelling results and policy analysis.
  • Collaborate on research related to energy policy and sustainability.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's, master's student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Energy Policy, Data Science, Economics, Environmental Science).
  • Strong interest in renewable energy, policy analysis, and statistical modelling.
  • Experience or willingness to learn time-series forecasting and AI modelling techniques.
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R, or similar).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
