Introduction
The Clean Energy Lab is offering an internship for bachelor's, master's students, or recent graduates to join as a Research Assistant. This role involves conducting a lifecycle assessment (LCA) of renewable energy technologies such as solar panels and wind turbines, with a focus on how circular economy practices, such as recycling and reusing components, can reduce environmental impact. You will use an open-source LCA software (e.g., OpenLCA) to conduct this analysis, making it ideal for those interested in clean energy and sustainability.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct a lifecycle assessment (LCA) of renewable energy technologies (solar panels, wind turbines).
- Analyse how circular economy practices, like recycling and reusing components, can reduce environmental impact.
- Identify and use an open-source LCA software (e.g., OpenLCA or SimaPro) for conducting the assessment.
- Collect and analyse data to evaluate resource use, emissions, and environmental savings.
- Prepare reports and presentations based on your findings.
- Collaborate on clean energy and circular economy projects in the lab.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Energy Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability).
