Introduction
The Circular Economy Lab is offering an internship for bachelor's, master's students, or recent graduates to join as a Research Assistant. This role focuses on conducting a comparative lifecycle assessment (LCA) of circular versus traditional products, with a focus on environmental impact, resource use, and emissions reduction. You will utilise an open-source LCA software for this analysis, making it ideal for individuals interested in sustainability, environmental impact analysis, and engineering design.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct a comparative lifecycle assessment of circular versus traditional products.
- Analyse environmental impacts, resource use, and emissions reduction of circular processes.
- Identify and use an open-source software tool (e.g., OpenLCA or SimaPro) to perform LCA.
- Prepare detailed reports and visual data presentations of your findings.
- Collaborate on ongoing projects related to circular economy and product lifecycle analysis.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Environmental Engineering, Sustainability, Industrial Design).
- Interest in lifecycle assessment and circular economy strategies.
- Experience or willingness to learn LCA methodologies and open-source LCA software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organisational skills.
- Familiarity with environmental impact assessment is a plus.
