Introduction

The Water and Blue Economy Lab is offering an internship for bachelor's, master's students, or recent graduates to join as a Research Assistant. This role involves conducting literature reviews and bibliometric analysis on maritime transport trends and the development of sustainable shipping practices to reduce the environmental footprint of the shipping industry. It’s ideal for individuals interested in marine transport, sustainability, and environmental policy.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review literature on maritime transport trends and sustainable shipping practices.
• Conduct bibliometric analysis to track key developments, contributors, and emerging trends.
• Summarise findings on the environmental impact of the shipping industry and efforts to reduce its footprint.
• Prepare reports and presentations for the lab team.
• Collaborate on projects related to sustainable shipping and the blue economy.

Requirements

• Bachelor's, master's student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Marine Science, Environmental Science, Transportation Engineering).
• Interest in maritime transport, sustainable shipping, and environmental sustainability.
• Experience or interest in literature reviews and bibliometric analysis.
• Familiarity with research databases and tools (e.g., Scopus, VOSviewer).
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
