Introduction
The Water and Blue Economy Lab is offering an internship for bachelor's, master's students, or recent graduates to join as a Research Assistant. This role involves conducting literature reviews and bibliometric analysis on the economic value of coastal and marine ecosystems, focusing on services such as carbon sequestration, tourism, and fisheries, within the context of the blue economy. It’s ideal for individuals interested in marine ecosystems and sustainable economic development.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Review literature on the economic value of coastal and marine ecosystem services.
- Conduct bibliometric analysis to identify key trends, research gaps, and contributors.
- Summarise findings on ecosystem services like carbon sequestration, tourism, and fisheries.
- Prepare reports and presentations for the lab team.
- Collaborate on projects related to the blue economy and ecosystem services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's, master's student, or recent graduate in a relevant field (Marine Science, Environmental Economics, Ecology).
- Interest in coastal and marine ecosystems, ecosystem services, and the blue economy.
- Experience or interest in literature reviews and bibliometric analysis.
- Familiarity with research databases and tools (e.g., Scopus, VOSviewer).
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
